Workspace Meets Wellness

As Coworking Concept Breaks Ground

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 26, ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA A progressive concept in coworking space broke ground on September 28, 2019, with The Loop at 215, a high-energy multi-use workspace and wellness property being developed by Braddock Commercial Real Estate and built by Pizzano Construction at 215 North Payne Street in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.

“Business and property owners understand the efficiency and flexibility of coworking space. At The Loop, they can offer high-end amenities and work/life balance, but affordably so,” says Christopher Campagna, principal of Braddock. “As technology continues to untether the workforce, the greige cubicle is becoming a thing of the past. The Loop unlocks the potential of the individual, the business and the community.”

The 10,000-square-foot complex will house flexible workspace with the modern light-filled esthetic of open work areas, dedicated offices, meeting rooms, podcasting studio, a lounge, kitchen and even outdoor work cabanas.  Members and guests of The Loop will access on-site indoor and outdoor functional fitness gyms with free weights and equipment, Fire & Ice sauna and cold-plunge bath, as well as fitness coaches.

To allow people to recharge 24-7under one roof, The Loop will partner with a food operator who provides premium coffee, fresh juice, and nutritious unprocessed food options.  The food service area or café and outdoor patio will be open to the public.

Alexandria Wellness is one of the first brands to find a new home at three-floor The Loop, along with Inner Motion Media. The Loop will offer various levels of workspace memberships, gym memberships and day passes.  Coaches’ memberships have already sold out.

The historic property has housed local businesses since 1897, including a grocery store, Alexandria Laundry Company, Southern Dry Cleaning and Chec Soda and Refrigeration.  Acquired by Braddock in November, 2018, the property’s extensive renovation and repurposing fall under the expertise of Spaces Design Studio of Fredericksburg and Contxure Architecture of Herndon, Virginia. The grand opening is slated for December, 2019.

The Loop allows people to bike or walk to work without having to cross a bridge into Washington, D.C., and companies can nimbly scale up or down without long-term commitments and worries about a fluctuating economy. As small and mid-sized businesses (80% of the commercial real estate market) prioritize attracting and retaining top talent, maximizing productivity and optimizing time, money and energy, The Loop is a timely customer-oriented solution.

The Loop, allied with local and national coworking networks, gives members reciprocal privileges across the D.C. metropolitan area and the nation – whether a guest needs a desk, a conference room or a space to entertain clients. Phase II of the project will feature additional workspace and a co-living residential component.
